The first eight bands for the 2025 Beyond The Gates festival in Bergen have been revealed. King Diamond will be the main act at the four-day black/death metal weekender, which runs from July 30 to August 2. This will be his first Norwegian performance in nearly 20 years. Lower on the bill are Triptykon‘s renditions of Celtic Frost classics, Destruction commemorating the 40th anniversary of their debut album “Infernal Overkill”, and Abbath Doom Occulta‘s songs from his time in Immortal. Dark Sonority, Hellbutcher, Hellripper, and I Am Morbid by David Vincent have also been booked. Tickets for the festival’s weekend are now on sale for 3,785 Norwegian Krone, or around £269.
For the first time in 19 years, King Diamond will return to Norway with his fantastic, horror-infused, heavy metal spectacle. The King will grant us with a show second to none. The Saint Lucifer’s Hospital tour has been wreaking havoc in the US lately and we can’t wait until it arrives at these shores! Torgrim Øyre
King Diamond revealed the Saint Lucifer’s Hospital tour’s North American leg in July. The tour is presently in progress. Myrkur, a black metal soloist, plays keys and vocals as part of Diamond‘s live lineup for the tour. It is currently unknown if Myrkur will be on the Beyond The Gates set. The 13th edition of Beyond The Gates will take place at a number of locations throughout Bergen. These include the renowned black metal hotspot Grieghallen, where classics like Mayhem‘s “De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas” and Emperor‘s “Anthems To The Welkin At Dusk” were recorded. Trelldom, Watain, and Mayhem were the main acts this year. The roster also featured major positions for Behemoth, Venom, Enslaved, Satyricon, and Death SS.
