King Diamond gives an update on long-awaited new album

King Diamond has been working on the follow-up to his 2007 album “Give Me Your Soul… Please” for quite a few years now. All we know so far is that it’s going to be called “The Institute” and there’s a song on there called “Masquerade Of Madness” that was released back in 2019, which you can watch below:

Now in a tweet, King Diamond revealed he’s working on a ton of lyrics for the record that “in due time” will be revealed to the public, meaning assumptions that there’s been serious progress on “The Institute” lately are most likely to be confirmed.

Last time we heard about the record was from guitarist Andy La Rocque in June 2021, who said King Diamond wants to have the new record done before they hit the road again.

Our goal is to go out on the road again when all this COVID stuff is over with. And before that, we need to have an album out there. So, we’ve got some pressure, yes

King‘s got a lot of crazy ideas, of course. He’s got the basic lines of the story already in his mind. And I have, actually, four or five songs that could be possible for the next album, and I know he’s got tons of riffs and stuff going around in his head too. So, as soon as he sits down and gets it down on tape, it’s gonna go fast.”
