Groove metal giant Machine Head recently celebrated it’s 30th anniversary and a lot of notable musicians have sent their video greetings towards the band for reaching such amazing milestone in their career.
One of the musicians sending a video greeting was Slayer‘s guitarist Kerry King who within the video message said that in his opinion Slayer quit too early. 57-year-old guitarist said the following about Slayer‘s retiring before congratulating Machine Head for their milestone:
“So, I hear congratulations are in order for my friends in Machine Head. Apparently, it’s 30 years, which is quite an achievement. Not a lot of bands get there. We did, and then we quit too early. Fuck us. Fuck me. I hate fucking not playing.”
Kerry King also revealed in the video that Machine Head is the only band he ever demanded to open for his band Slayer live when the two shared the stage after the band released their debut album “Burn My Eyes” in 1994.

Slayer played the final show of its farewell tour in November 2019 at the Forum in Los Angeles. One day later, Kerry’s wife Ayesha King said that there is “not a chance in hell” that the thrash metal icons will reunite for more live appearances.
