The packed Friday night show at Electric Brixton, featuring Lake Malice and HANABIE., offered a buzzing, high-energy gig that drew in both younger fans and classic metalheads. Lake Malice delivered a powerful, intense set that solidified their reputation for mixing metalcore and nu-metal with electronic rock and pop. Driven by guitarist Blake’s heavy riffs and vocalist Alice’s versatile range of melodic choruses to raw screams. Headliners HANABIE.. stole the show with their vibrant, contrasting “kawaii” visual style, which belied their fierce musical output. Their performance, centred on singer Youkina’s immediate shift from adorable charm to guttural screams, was an engaging mix of pop vocals and death metal, sparking an immediate and intense mosh pit.
