Kataklysm reveal their show in Dubai has been postponed due to ongoing conflict

Due to worries about the ongoing crisis in the Middle East, Kataklysm has announced that their debut live performance in Dubai has been postponed, as per theprp. In a statement released today, August 14, the Canadian death metallers discussed this.

Hello brothers and sisters from Dubai,

We’re sorry to announce that the KATAKLYSM show scheduled for September 18 has been postponed to 2027. The promoters for the show have been excellent and accommodating in every way possible, but due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, we are forced to postpone KATAKLYSM’s first appearance in Dubai.

We’re sorry for this situation, but we’ll be there in 2027!

A death metal band from Canada is called Kataklysm. They have put out fifteen studio albums, two EPs, and two DVDs as of 2024. For their 2015 album “Of Ghosts and Gods”, Kataklysm won their first Juno Award for Best Album of the Year in the “Heavy Metal” category. In September 1991, Kataklysm was established in Montreal, Quebec. The group, with their genre known as the Northern Hyperblast, gained notoriety for its quick technical death metal. The band was found by Nuclear Blast in 1992 following the release of their debut demo, “The Death Gate Cycle of Reincarnation”, which was much praised within the underground metal community. After signing with Nuclear Blast in 1994, Kataklysm released their debut EP, “The Mystical Gate of Reincarnation”, and their debut album, “Sorcery”, in 1995.

Their debut music video for the song “The Awakener” was included on their second full-length album, “Temple of Knowledge”, which was released in 1996. Sylvain Houde, the band’s lead vocalist and founding member, departed the group after the album’s release, citing emotional problems associated with ending a personal engagement. Stephane Barbe took over as bassist after bassist Maurizio Iacono assumed the role of vocalist. With Iacono and founding guitarist JF Dagenais taking over creative leadership, this change also signalled a change in the band’s artistic trajectory.
