Serious charges have led to the arrest of Joseph Seiders, drummer for the Canadian band The New Pornographers. Among other things, Seiders is suspected of possessing child pornography. Seiders was taken into custody on April 9 after police were sent to Palm Desert, a city in Riverside County, Los Angeles, to look into suspicious activities, according to a statement from the authorities. A local employee reported seeing a man strolling through the restroom with young boys two days after an 11-year-old child said that an older man had recorded him in a public lavatory on April 7. Seiders was taken into custody by the police, who also discovered proof of his involvement in other like patterns when they examined his phone and apartment. After Seiders was taken into custody, authorities investigated his phone and apartment and discovered evidence linking him to the two aforementioned incidents as well as other related trends. Seiders is currently under suspicion of violating someone’s privacy, molestation of a minor, and possession of child pornography. On April 22, his trial will start. The other members of The New Pornographers, a group that was founded in 1997 and has put out nine studio albums, broke off their relationship with Seiders right away.
