Yesterday (Wednesday, 24 June 2026), the 2026 edition of Tons Of Rock, Norway’s largest rock and metal festival, began with some initial difficulties. According to Norway’s national public broadcaster NRK, the power went out, resulting in silence across all stages. At around midnight on the first day of the festival, it was also announced that Friday’s headliner, Yungblud, would not be performing at Tons Of Rock and would instead be replaced by Joan Jett And The Blackhearts:
“YUNGBLUD CANCELS – JOAN JETT & THE BLACKHEARTS CONFIRMED FOR TONS OF ROCK. Unfortunately, YUNGBLUD has had to cancel his performance at Tons of Rock. We know many fans were looking forward to the show, and we’re truly sorry for the disappointment this may cause. We wish YUNGBLUD all the best and hope to welcome him to Tons of Rock in the future. Finding an international artist of this calibre at such short notice is no easy task. That’s why we’re incredibly excited to welcome Joan Jett & The Blackhearts to the festival. After headlining Sweden Rock earlier this month, the rock icon is now making her way to Tons of Rock. Our audience will get the chance to experience an artist who has left an unforgettable mark on rock history over the course of several decades. With timeless classics like ‘I Love Rock ’n’ Roll’, ‘Bad Reputation’ and ‘Crimson and Clover’, Joan Jett has been one of rock’s most influential voices for generations, and we’re proud to present her at this year’s festival. We Love Rock ‘n’ Roll!”

Joan Jett And The Blackhearts add:
“JUST ANNOUNCED: We are headlining Tons Of Rock in Oslo THIS FRIDAY, June 26th! […] See you soon Norway.”

At this year’s Sweden Rock Festival, Joan Jett And The Blackhearts had already stepped in as a replacement for Twisted Sister. Tons Of Rock runs until Saturday (27 June 2026) in Norway’s capital Oslo. Tickets and further information can be found here.
