The new single “Leave The Past” blends various styles of electronic music with a heavier metal sound — a signature element of Jay Ray’s distinctive expression.
The song combines different electronic music genres with metal, just like most of my work. I always try to balance the heavier and the softer side in my songs — and that’s also the case with this track, Jay Ray explains.

Joni Säde aka. Jay Ray is an independent solo artist and producer from Finland. He started to work as a solo artist in the beginning of 2012 and before that he was working in different bands. His music style is mostly known by electro-cinematic rock and metal that combines elements from various genres of music.
Jay Ray launched his solo career by earning victories in remix competitions. The most significant being the Serj Tankian competition where Tankian himself picked out the winner out of hundreds of participants. One of his distinguished trait is that he uses his own vocals in all of his remixes.
Jay Ray has collaborated with many popular artists such as Marko Saaresto of Poets of the Fall, Jimmie Strimell (ex-Dead by April), Paul Udarov, Entropy Zero to name a few.
Jay‘s debut album “Self-Resonance” was released in 2017.
Later his music got featured in several games such as demolition derby themed racing game Wreckfest, released by the Finnish game developer Bugbear Entertainment. His music is also featured in the games following games; Once Human, SCUM, Avakin Life, Once Human, FitXR and Demolition Derby 3.
In 2020 Jay was taken by a rather pleasant surprise when his song 137 was featured in the hit commercial made by Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds.
