Ivy Vujic of Kittie to miss upcoming band’s show

Author Benedetta Baldin - 26.1.2026

Ivana “Ivy” Vujic, bassist for Kittie, will not be performing with the band on this week’s ShipRocked cruise because of “a prior family commitment”, as per Blabbermouth. She is anticipated to reunite with her bandmates for their April performance at the Sick New World festival in Las Vegas, Nevada. Kittie posted the following statement on social media earlier today.

For those joining us at @shiprocked this week, you may notice that Ivy won’t be with us on this run. Family always comes first, and she’s honoring a prior family commitment, something we fully understand and support. We’re looking forward to being back together again at @sicknewworld in April

Kittie is a London, Ontario-based heavy metal band. Guitarist Fallon Bowman and drummer Mercedes Lander founded the group in 1996. The next year, bassist Tanya Candler and guitarist and vocalist Morgan Lander joined. The only consistent members of the band are Morgan and Mercedes. Over two million copies of their collective music have been sold globally through indie record labels. Because the moniker “seemed contradictory,” Kittie was selected as the band name. Kittie‘s first album, “Spit” (1999), was published after they signed with Ng Records. The following year, Artemis Records expanded the album’s distribution. The album, which mostly featured a nu metal sound, was certified gold by the RIAA and sold at least 600,000 copies in the US.
