It looks like Raymond Herrera has returned to Angst Fabrik

Christian Olde Wolbers, a former bassist and vocalist for Fear Factory, hasn’t updated fans on the status of Angst Fabrik, which many believe to be his own version of Fear Factory, as per theprp. Given that the German to English translation of that new project’s name is “Fear Factory,” that conjecture hasn’t exactly seemed too far off. In January 2025, Wolbers and Bell managed to put aside their disagreements long enough to spend some time together, despite years of intense legal infighting between former Fear Factory vocalist Burton C. Bell and various members of Fear Factory. But a few months later, Bell appeared to disassociate himself from this nascent endeavour.

Although studio sessions for Angst Fabrik‘s debut were set for last autumn, few formal details were disclosed, despite the fact that a few extra members had been mentioned. However, in an intriguing turn of events, drummer Raymond Herrera, another important former member of Fear Factory, was featured in a post shared by Angst Fabrik on, September 7. Herrera had essentially stopped playing drums, as seen in the video below of him laying down sections in the studio. It appears that he hadn’t played behind the kit in perhaps 16 years prior to these most recent sessions.

After 16 years away from the kit, the machine woke back up. Still runs.

After Bell’s painful resignation in 2020, Fear Factory guitarist Dino Cazares officially took over the band’s trademarks and has since reconstructed the group. The first single from Fear Factory‘s eleventh studio album, “Roboticist,” just came out. Angst Fabrik has not yet revealed any further information about his ambitions. However, 14 songs were written at the time, according to an August 2025 update.
