Heavy metal legends Iron Maiden recently teamed up with ex-Pixar executives Mark Andrews and Andrew Gordon (The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Brave, etc.), and animation studio BlinkInk, for their music video for “The Writing On The Wall” which you can check out below:

According to a new interview with Kerrang!, Iron Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson revealed the inspiration for the video actually came from Rammstein‘s “Deutschland” music video. Dickinson said he wanted the video to have a similar impact and had the following to say about it:

I said to Rod, ‘Have you seen the video for ‘Deutschland’ by Rammstein?’ That, to me, is a groundbreaking video,” said Dickinson. “That’s astonishing. Now, I’m not suggesting we do that, because we’re not Rammstein. But think of what we could do that would have the equivalent impact for us. So, I wrote storyboard for the vid, tweaked it a little bit, and gave it a happy ending. Well, kind of a happy ending — Adam and Eve start again, but with Eddie going, ‘I’ll still get you in the end.’

Iron Maiden will be releasing their 17th studio album “Senjutsu” on September 3. The album was recorded at Guillaume Tell Studio in France in the beginning of 2019 with longtime producer Kevin Shirley and co-produced by bassist Steve Harris.
