Dublin art-rock band iNNUENDO has joined Blowtorch Records and is striving to unleash an alternative sound for anyone looking for something different to shouty guitar bands (of which we remain great fans).

Founded in 2022 by Nora Ronan (vocals and keys), Ben Watson (guitar), John Kirk (bass) and Daniel Dennehy (drums), they’re eager to make their mark on the Irish music scene by blending contrasting influences and creating the kind of music they’ve always wanted to hear.

Described by The Goo as “tapping into something pretty special,” their music has a modern edge and contagious energy, evident in their charismatic and eclectic live sets. They draw inspiration from the alt and art-rock of the late 20th century such as Radiohead, Kate Bush and David Bowie and blending it with the softer sides of indie and pop-rock such as The Strokes and Crowded House.

iNNUENDO’s goal is to create a captivating and dynamic atmosphere with melodically compelling and distinct original songs, all while honouring classic and modern influences.

Opening up 2024, iNNUENDO performed to an over filled room as part of the Whelans ‘Ones to Watch’ Festival and were selected as part of the TILT development deal which led them to pack out their headline TILT Button Factory slot.

With inventive song writing and relentless drive, iNNUENDO stands out in the Irish music scene, offering a fresh alternative to the nondescript, identikit post-punk sounds in the field surrounding them.

The band will release their debut EP, “On Occasion” this September, recorded and produced by Daniel De Burca, and mixed by Alex Borwick, after a summer-long rollout of contrasting singles. This EP explores the ups and downs of dealing with taxing, undefined relationships and the journey to finding acceptance with rich sonic soundscapes and heartfelt hooks. With relatable themes of defiance, misunderstanding, and rejection, “On Ocassion” speaks to the challenges faced by today’s youth.
