Infant Annihilator‘s highly anticipated new album is scheduled for release on December 1st. The technical deathcore band unveiled an unusual teaser video online to announce the release date on October 16th. Their previous full-length album was released in 2019. Source.
Infant Annihilator was established in 2012 in Hessle near Kingston upon Hull by guitarist Eddie Pickard and drummer Aaron Kitcher. The band’s name was derived from a track of the same name composed by Kitcher’s former band, As the Blessed Fall, and was selected as a parody of death metal band naming conventions. Pickard and Kitcher composed and produced homemade recordings utilizing recording software on Pickard’s computer.
They authored, recorded, and edited the instrumental components for their debut album, “The Palpable Leprosy of Pollution” (abbreviated as The PLOP). Following the online release of instrumental tracks, the duo connected with American vocalist Dan Watson from Indiana through social media, who discovered Infant Annihilator on Facebook. Pickard and Kitcher were impressed with Watson’s vocal performance and invited him to contribute vocals to the album. The band achieved viral notoriety online, amassing approximately 20,000 “likes” within a month of releasing the music video for “Decapitation Fornication.”
Following the release of the video, the group promoted their debut album, “The Palpable Leprosy of Pollution”, which was released on 12 December 2012 (12/12/12). Watson proposed the idea of releasing the album on this specific date. In retrospect, Watson expressed regret over the chosen release date, as it compelled him to hasten his work, resulting in dissatisfaction with his vocal performance.
Watson departed from the band in late 2013 and publicly announced his exit on 22 February 2014. He stated that his departure was due to feelings of inequality compared to the other two members and frustration over their decision to sign a contract without his input. Subsequently, Watson established the Washington-based deathcore band Enterprise Earth, collaborating with former Takeover guitarist BJ Sampson.
