In Flames recruits Jon Rice of Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats for summer tour

Swedish metal titans In Flames have tapped Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats drummer Jon Rice for their upcoming European tour this spring and summer. Rice is stepping in for Tanner Wayne, whose departure was announced earlier this week.

The band shared a rehearsal photo earlier today featuring Rice behind the kit, captioned simply: “Rehearsals.” His first show with In Flames will be the tour kickoff on June 2nd in Tallinn, Estonia. Fans in Finland will also get to see the new lineup in action when the band hits Provinssi and Tuska festivals.

Jon Rice is no stranger to the big stage. In addition to his tenure with Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats—he joined them in 2017 and played on the 2018 album “Wasteland”—he’s also filled in for Behemoth’s drummer Inferno and played in heavy-hitting bands like Job for a Cowboy, The Red Chord, and Scorpion Child.

Tanner Wayne joined In Flames in 2018, taking over from Joe Rickard. He appeared on the band’s most recent album, “Foregone”, released in February 2023 via Nuclear Blast.

In Flames will continue to support “Foregone” with an extensive run of summer dates across Europe and beyond:
