Gautier Serre—a multi-instrumentalist who plays piano, drums, and guitar—utilizes Steinberg Cubase as the core DAW for his music production. The name Igorrr stems from a childhood pet gerbil named Igorr, to which Serre appended a third “r” to render it deliberately harder to pronounce. Serre also experiences synesthesia, perceiving sounds and musical compositions as vivid colors.

After self-releasing his early demo albums, “Poisson Soluble” (2006) and “Moisissure” (2008, via Acroplane Recordings), Igorrr caught the attention of independent label Ad Noiseam. This led to the 2010 release of his debut full-length, “Nostril”, alongside the companion EP “Baroquecore”, followed by reissues of both early demos in 2011. Igorrr‘s sophomore effort, 2012’s “Hallelujah”, featured guest contributions from Mayhem guitarist Teloch and classical vocalist Laure Le Prunenec. The album cycle gained viral attention thanks to Serre’s pet chicken, Patrick, who was recorded “playing” piano keys sprinkled with chicken feed—a clip that earned Serre a GoPro filmmaking award.
