Finnish death-doom band Hooded Menace have released a cover of Duran Duran’s 1982 hit “Save a Prayer”. The cover appears as the sixth track on their upcoming seventh studio album, “Lachrymose Monuments of Obscuration”, which is set to be released on October 3 through Season of Mist.

A Bandcamp listening party for the album is scheduled for tomorrow September 17, giving fans a chance to hear the album in full ahead of its release.

The cover version reinterprets “Save a Prayer” through Hooded Menace’s signature heavy, doom-laden style, highlighting the contrast between the original new wave ballad and the band’s dense, haunting instrumentation and vocals.
