Hawkwind founder Nik Turner has died at 82
Founder of the British rock legends Hawkwind, multi-instrumentalist Nik Turner died at 82. The news is reported on his official Facebook account, where the singer, flutist, and saxophonist is remembered by his fine nickname “The Might Thunder Rider”.
Reminding fans that Lemmy Kilmister played in Hawkwind when Nik Turner was also part of the band, Motörhead were among the first to celebrate the end of the Thunder in a heartfelt tweet:
