US hard rock band Halestorm have released a new single “Darkness Always Wins”. The song offers the first taste of the band’s upcoming, yet to be officially released sixth album. The album is the follow-up to the 2022 release “Back From The Dead”.
Although the title of the song may sound gloomy at first, singer-guitarist Lzzy Hale insists that it is not really a praise to hopelessness. “Darkness Always Wins is not a song of hope, nor is it a song of despair. It is Reality. History repeating. Evil prevails and the Good depart first. But we are not doomed as long as we persist and keep our fires burning. The War may not be won in this lifetime. But our mission is to pass the torch so that those who follow have a light to fight with.” Hale describes.
The song was produced by Dave Cobb, who is more familiar with the country music scene and has previously worked with Stevie Nicks, Luke Grimes and Rival Sons.
On the touring front, Halestorm will not rest on their laurels either. The band will be seen this summer on tour across Europe with Iron Maiden. In July, the band will take part in Black Sabbath’s Back To The Beginning event, before heading to North America with Volbeat.
