In a new interview with Metal Global’s Jorge Botas, Trivium guitarist Corey Beaulieu has revealed plans for the band’s upcoming album, their first since 2021’s “In The Court Of The Dragon.”

Speaking during the band’s current “The Poisoned Ascendancy” tour, where Trivium and Bullet For My Valentine are performing their respective albums “Ascendancy” and “The Poison” in full for their 20th anniversaries, Beaulieu shared updates on their progress. “We spent last year building our recording studio at our hangar. We’re always working on new stuff, and since our last record was in 2021, this has been our longest gap between releases,” he explained.

The guitarist outlined the band’s timeline for 2026, which will include the new album release, touring, and festival appearances. He noted that the band has been using their “Ascendancy” anniversary rehearsals as inspiration for new material: “We kind of used playing ‘Ascendancy’ as our mojo to inspire us to write new music, taking that vibe and energy into new stuff.

Regarding the release schedule, Beaulieu indicated that while there’s no strict timeline, fans can expect announcements about the new record sometime in mid-2025. The extended gap between releases was intentional, following the rapid succession of their previous albums “What The Dead Men Say” (2020) and “In The Court Of The Dragon” (2021).

We did basically put out two records in a year, which is a lot nowadays,” Beaulieu reflected. “We felt like we needed more breathing space to let everyone get excited and build anticipation for new music. When we put out ‘In The Court Of The Dragon,’ it was so quick after the previous record that perhaps there wasn’t as much hype or anticipation.
