Glasswaves, an up ‘n’ coming, Rochester, New York-based trio that seamlessly blends dark pop, alternative rock, and electronic elements with a heavy and dynamic edge, recently announced their new album “while (True)”. It arrives October 23 via SharpTone Records.
Today, the band — Noah Rich [vocals], Owen Miller [guitar], and Brendan Curtis [bass] — shares “SCARed.”
The track is at once gorgeously creepy and crushing. It will escort you down the darkest hallways of your mind and grab you by the back of the neck with its artful ferocity.
“‘SCARed’ captures that moment when your thoughts turn to static, and you can’t tell what’s real, what’s memory, or what’s just yourself unraveling,” explains Noah about the song’s inspiration point. “From the moment Owen, our producer, and I got in the room with this song, we knew it was something special.”
Regarding the album as a whole, Noah states, “while (True) is our most ambitious and personal release yet. Through the story of a failing medical technology company experimenting with dream manipulation, we explore themes of trauma, addiction, perception, and the unseen forces that shape the way we think. More than anything, this album represents our growth as writers. We challenged ourselves creatively, stopped following expectations, and made the record we truly wanted to make. We can’t wait for people to experience the world of “while(True)” and find their own meaning within it.“
