Ghost‘s enormous success can be attributed, in large part, to its devoted fan following, which has helped the band sell merchandise, tickets, and even movie releases. The most recent victory follows “Rite Here Rite Now”‘s international opening and place in the top 10 box office globally last weekend. The story-mixed concert film, which debuted in over 1,800 theatres across 49 nations, was screened at precise times between June 20th and June 23rd. Despite having fewer showings, the picture earned $5.04 million, making it the ninth highest-grossing film globally, according to Trafalgar Releasing. But in North America, where it became the greatest earning hard rock cinema event ever, things appeared even better. There, it grossed $2.65 million.
Leader Tobias Forge comments:
Having wanted to make a movie for most of my life, I was overwhelmed to see the interest our fans showed in the film before it was even released. Now as people seem to have not only seen it, but also seem to dig it… That really gets my motor humming. Thank you all!
