Full Metal Mayrhofen – a great success in the Tyrolean Alps

Author Benedetta Baldin - 1.4.2026

A fantastic week of snow-covered slopes, blazing riffs, and great vibes is coming to an end: in the Mayrhofen-Hippach holiday region in the Zillertal Valley of Tyrol Full Metal Mayrhofen took place once again from March 23 to 28 – and what a success it was!

Monday kicks off with the launch of the Europahaus as a new venue: following an opening set by DJ Markus Babbel and The Biest Jörg MichaelDragony and Bloodhound get the “Hall of the Mountain King” stage shaking. Excellent sound and plenty of happy metalheads make for a successful start.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, the program at the Kasermandl and Stieralm draws crowds with performances by Mambo KurtBlechblos’n, and several DJ sets. A vibrant atmosphere takes over as locals and battle-vest-wearing fans come together—whether for a shared beer or to indulge in some hearty food. On Wednesday, The Butcher Sisters bring things to a close with a mosh pit and a giant water polo ball.

Thursday brings a sudden return of winter: the Alm program is moved to the Europahaus at short notice—but the good vibes remain. Reis Against The Spülmachine turn the foyer into a boiling “Hexenkessel”. Despite the snowfall, the Waldfestplatz is still filled with happy faces, as DonotsTurbobierEmil Bulls, and Paleface Swiss deliver legendary shows.

The weekend then continues as planned across the Forest Stage, Kasermandl and Stieralm. At the Waldfestplatz, bands like Ensiferum and In Extremo fire up the crowd. At the Kasermandl Alm, cult folk musician Erwin Aschenwald and his sons (“Die Mayrhofner”) take the stage together with Evil Jared & Krogi, delivering a rousing “Schei-wi-dei-wi-du-wi-dei” performance—something the Zillertal has never seen before.
Bathed in glorious sunshine on Saturday, the final day of Full Metal Mayrhofen can be fully enjoyed one last time, with concerts by Beyond The BlackDoro, Innsbruck scene favorites, Liquid Steel, and Induction.

Metal fan and managing director of the Mayrhofen Tourist Board, Andreas Lackner, sums up: “The conditions this year couldn’t have been better—with wintry mountain conditions thanks to fresh snow and an optimal utilization in the region. Combined with the high-quality lineup and the special atmosphere, Full Metal Mayrhofen once again demonstrates how well heavy guitar riffs and an alpine winter setting go together. Our thanks go to everyone involved for the excellent collaboration—we are already looking forward to the next edition.”

Jan Struve, managing director of Full Entertainment GmbH, also expressed his delight: “What an incredible party and a fantastic reunion! Again this year, we were welcomed with open arms by the local gastronomy, hotels, and the ski resort. Absolutely amazing shows that created a lively atmosphere for both fans and bands, and once again a perfect mix of sunshine and fresh snow. A huge thank-you goes to everyone working behind and in front of the scenes, the location, and the Mayrhofen Tourist Board, and we are already looking forward to next year!”
