Iron Maiden has formally been selected to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, as per theprp. For a long time, Maiden‘s persistent absence from the Rock Hall was perceived as a blatant rejection. Bruce Dickinson, the band’s frontman, openly mocked the Hall in 2018. This year’s entry comes after the band’s two unsuccessful nominations in 2021 and 2023, neither of which seemed to do much to win them the prize. Nevertheless, their camp released a formal statement following the announcement that the group had been selected for induction. After the band’s admission on tonight’s “American Idol” episode was confirmed, its longtime manager Rod Smallwood spoke on the band’s behalf.
We’d like to thank the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for including us (and former members who were all part of our story) in the 2026 roll call of inductees. Iron Maiden have always been about our relationship with our fans above anything else, including awards and industry accolades. However, having said that, it’s always nice to be recognised and honoured for any achievements within the music industry too! It also seems appropriate for the band to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this year as we continue our 50th anniversary celebrations with our Run For Your Lives World Tour visiting the Americas and beyond. We would also like to congratulate our fellow 2026 inductees and extend our gratitude as ever to our fans for their loyalty, perseverance and support for over 50 years now! See you all, somewhere on tour.
The other inductees are:
The Black Crowes, Jeff Buckley, INXS, and other artists were on this year’s list of induction nominees, however they were not selected. But this year, a handful of other artists will also be admitted into the Hall on the basis of particular merits.
