Richard Patrick (Filter) reveals the status of the new album

Filter frontman Richard Patrick says the band’s next studio album, tentatively titled “The Antidote”, is almost complete and is being targeted for release in early 2027.

In an interview with Rock 100.5 The KATT FM, Patrick explained that the record continues the industrial direction explored on 2023’s “The Algorithm”. He said mixing is in its final stages, with mastering expected to follow.

It’s kind of a follow-up to ‘The Algorithm’, ’cause ‘The Algorithm’ was very much like me kind of writing with a computer and sitting down and getting back more into my industrial roots a little bit. And then this ‘Antidote’ record is very much a continuation of that. So I’m really, really excited to release it [in] early 2027. [It’s] moments away from being done.

Brian Virtue is an amazing mix engineer, and he keeps tweaking it. And I’m, like, ‘Are you good? ‘Cause I’m good. It sounds great to me.’ He’s making improvements still. I’m the guy that’ll sit back and say, ‘Hey, dude, give it a rest.’ But he’s making improvements. He’s doing a great job. And we are minutes away from having that record done. And then we’ll get it mastered. Howie Weinberg will master it, probably. And then boom.
