Drake barks for a goth girl – but it’s just a (weird) challenge

On her newly webcast dating program, 20 v 1, Canadian rapper Drake immediately barked for a young goth woman, content producer Lin Lamar, as per MetalInjection. Similar to other similar dating shows, the rapper goes on speed dates with twenty women on a livestream sponsored by the cryptocurrency gaming startup Stake, which enjoys giving Drake money to do foolish things. Drake tries a variety of barks when Lamar urges him to do so. By doing this, he becomes the ideal representation of a well-known online phenomenon: the fetishisation of goth women and the unquenchable desire for the “big tiddy goth gf.”

In addition to expectations and commodification, alternative women are subject to a number of pre-existing biases and assumptions. Given that 1 in 4 women and young girls have experienced physical or sexual abuse and 1 in 3 have experienced physical or sexual assault, the sexualisation and commodification of all women has become an obvious problem in society (WHO). The sexualisation of all women is an issue in our society, but during the game of “Wife, Pipe, Bestie,” Drake‘s howling for the “big tiddy goth gf” particularly hurt.

After making an appearance on a dating show with Drake, Mexican-American content producer and streamer Lin Lamar, popularly known online as Pinkchyu, went viral. Lin has acknowledged in public that she is half Mexican, and her encounter with Drake immediately attracted notice since he seemed particularly drawn to her. She was his choice over Lena the Plug. Drake chose Lin to be his “wife” on the show, however this was only a dating-show decision and not a real marriage.
