Norwegian metal band Djerv is back — this time with a visual rebellion. Following the recent release of their latest single ‘Reignbreaker‘, created for the new action game of the same name, they now unveil a fully animated music video that takes things to the next level.

Since its release, ‘Reignbreaker‘ has racked up over 150,000 plays across Spotify and YouTube, and the track is already spinning on the UK’s Kerrang! Radio — one of Europe’s leading rock platforms. Now, the official music video is finally here: a dark, intense, and vividly colourful journey that expands on the game’s gothic universe, where everything revolves around breaking free from power. Watch the video here.

It was so much fun working with our friends again on this video. We wanted to create something that really captured the essence of ‘Reignbreaker’ and its story, but also bring in a bit of humour. The whole process was creative and fun from start to finish — now we just hope people enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed making it.

The video was directed by Jørn Veberg and Dag Stian Mykjåland — a creative duo known for their visually striking and concept-driven productions.

When you have a month with no clue what to do in the evenings — what do you do? You wait for a call from DJERV asking if you want to make a fully animated music video. Jørn Veberg

The video plunges us into a crumbling world ruled by a tyrannical queen whose reign is nearing its end. Reignbreaker and her ragtag crew rise up to claim the throne — all told through an aesthetic inspired by stylised, dystopian comic-book worlds. The result mirrors the raw intensity and energy of the track — with a sly wink along the way.

With a recent Spellemann nomination for “International Breakthrough of the Year,” Djerv further cements their status as one of Norway’s most fearless and genre-pushing bands. They’ve previously made waves through major global projects like League of Legends, Nikke: Goddess of Victory, and Netflix’s Arcane.

The game Reignbreaker, developed by German studio Studio Fizbin, was released on 18th March and takes players deep into a brutal world where you control Clef — a child soldier who has turned against a totalitarian regime. With this backdrop, DJERV delivers a soundtrack packed with defiance, power, and fury.

The Reignbreaker game launched on PC and is available on Steam. Join the community and be part of the uprising on BlueskyTikTokThreadsInstagram and Twitch.
