Disturbed have already recorded the material for their next studio album, according to guitarist Dan Donegan. In a new interview with Australian publication The Rockpit, the musician explained that the band is now evaluating the recordings and working out a release plan, with 2027 the current target.
Donegan said the group hopes to have at least one new track available before returning to Australia, New Zealand and Asia in April and May 2027. That aim is not a confirmed single-release date, and the album itself has no announced title or release day.
Discussing the album’s status, Donegan said: “We have an album sitting there that we’re trying to figure the timeframe [to release].” The guitarist also described plans to meet vocalist David Draiman and drummer Mike Wengren in Los Angeles for a final look at the material and any possible adjustments.
Musically, Donegan suggested that the record will retain recognisable Disturbed ingredients: rhythmic aggression, melodic passages and Draiman’s range of vocal styles. Some ideas reportedly go back to riffs first explored in the late 1990s, while possible guest collaborations are still only ideas and have not been recorded or confirmed.
The band’s most recent full-length album is “Divisive”, released in 2022. Disturbed shared “I Will Not Break” as a standalone single in 2025, but the timetable for the forthcoming project is still being decided.
Separately, Disturbed have announced 2027 dates across Oceania and Asia built around a complete performance of “The Sickness” alongside a second set of hits. The recording update is a distinct development from that tour announcement.
