In the media and in people’s conversations, the current state of rock music is often discussed. Hip hop has long been the dominant trend in popular music, but an increasing number of rappers have also started to take their influences from rock, such as Machine Gun Kelly.

David Draiman, lead singer of the metal band Disturbed, is among those who deny that rock is dead. Draiman expressed his opinion on Twitter, sharing a list of young rock bands he recommends.

Draiman’s releases include Bring Me The Horizon, who switched from metalcore to rock, rock band Nothing More, metal band Motionless In White, Bad Wolves, who rose to world fame with their cover of The Cranberries‘ “Zombie”, The Warning and Plush.

“Anyone that tells you “rock is dead” clearly isn’t paying attention”, Draiman writes and continues:

“Young rock bands are thriving. Who’s next?”
