Before the album finally arrives tomorrow, Dutch/Slovak deathcore outfit Distant unveil one final single and video. The band comment:
“‘Into Despair’ is the title track and one of the most personal songs on the album. It’s about depression and the feeling of spiralling deeper and deeper into a place where you can no longer see a way out. We wanted the song to capture that experience from the inside rather than explain depression from an outside perspective. It’s about being trapped in your own mind, watching yourself sink further, and wondering whether there will ever be a way back.”
The track perfectly encapsulates the album’s central theme. “Into Despair” is Distant’s most personal and emotionally charged work to date, exploring real-life struggles, loss, and the shared grief that connects us all. The album dives into the darkest corners of the human experience while ultimately finding solace in collective understanding.

Distant further elaborate:
“Driven by raw honesty and pure emotion, ‘Into Despair’ is an album born from personal battles and lived experiences. Every song carries pieces of each member’s journey, with moments of pain, reflection, and resilience woven into a deeply intimate body of work. More than just a collection of songs, ‘Into Despair’ is a cathartic expression of vulnerability and a reminder that even in our darkest moments, grief is something we all share. It stands as the band’s most heartfelt and authentic statement yet, transforming personal suffering into something universally resonant.”
