Metal, Hardcore, Indie, Rock
The “Best Rock” category wasn’t exactly headbanger-friendly, even though metal was represented onstage at this year’s “MTV Video Music Awards,” which were held at the main awards event at the UBS Arena in New York City. As reported from theprp, it turns out that Coldplay won this year’s “Best Rock” award. The British pop rock group’s “All My Love” music video won that category, defeating Evanescence‘s “Afterlife” from the “Devil May Cry” animated series and Linkin Park‘s “The Emptiness Machine,” their return single. This year’s nominees for that category also included “One Eyed Bastard” by Green Day, “Honey” by Lenny Kravitz, and “The Contract” by Twenty One Pilots.
