Did David Lee Roth predict in 1991 when he would retire? At least his old music video comes eerily close

Rock legend David Lee Roth announced on 1 October his intention to retire in 2022. Roth told the Las Vegas Review Journal that he plans to end his long and iconic career in January 2022.

But did Roth predict his retirement date much earlier? A series of images are circulating online showing a screenshot from Roth’s 1991 music video ‘A Little Ain’t Enough’. In the video, a crystal ball gives Roth’s retirement date as 10 October 2021.

Roth’s announcement to the media was therefore nine days early. Of course, according to Roth himself, the actual retirement will take place in January 2022, but this a funny coincidence to say the least – or perhaps a planned prank?
