Deep Purple release official music video for “Splat!”

Deep Purple have released a music video for “Splat!”, the title track from their latest studio album, which arrived on July 3 through earMUSIC. The video is available to watch here.
“Splat!” is the band’s sixth album made with producer Bob Ezrin, who has worked with Deep Purple on every studio album since 2013’s “Now What?!”. The band previously released four singles from the record: “Arrogant Boy”, “Diablo”, “Guilt Trippin’” and the title track.
The album was described in its press materials as Deep Purple’s heaviest in many years. It also continues a long-running creative partnership with Ezrin, whose credits include work with KISS, Pink Floyd, Lou Reed and Alice Cooper.
The concept behind “Splat!” came from vocalist Ian Gillan. Rather than presenting the end of humanity as simple destruction, the record imagines it as a transformation — a metamorphosis beyond physical existence.
The album’s earlier singles have explored different sides of that concept. “Diablo” also features country star Keith Urban on second guitar, while “Guilt Trippin’” draws on an unusual imagined conversation between God and Charles Darwin about humanity’s progress.
Deep Purple released “Splat!” on July 3 via earMUSIC. The album follows “=1” (2024) and continues the band’s collaboration with Ezrin, which began with “Now What?!” in 2013.
