Regarding his recently announced departure from Sacred Reich, drummer Dave McClain has released a personal message, as reported by theprp. His resignation was announced yesterday, October 20, by the aforementioned veteran thrash metal band. Going forward, Eduardo Baldo will be used as a temporary live fill-in.
Hey everyone!
As I’m sure you’ve heard, I’m no longer with Sacred Reich. Since rejoining in 2018 we made great music and had fun times together. I’ve decided to move on and I wish them all the best in the future! If you’ve been at a Sacred Reich show over the last 6 years, it was my pleasure to perform for you and to meet a lot of you.
Still 100% doing my thing, whether it’s touring, recording, teaching or just playing in my home studio.
Hope to see you all out there in the world again. Now back to my drum room!
Thanks, Dave
Sacred Reich had McClain behind the drum kit for two stints, the first of which lasted from 1991 to 1996. He returned to the fold during his most recent run, which lasted from 2018 to this year.

The band is recognized for spearheading the second wave of thrash metal in the late 1980s, along with Testament, Destruction, Death Angel, and Dark Angel. Their latest release is “Awakening” from 2019, released via Metal Blade Records.
