As well as being a talented musician and frontman of the Foo Fighters, Dave Grohl is also a philanthropist. Throughout his career, Grohl has visited and fed the homeless in the United States and around the world.
On December 8, in the middle of a Foo Fighters’ Australian tour, Grohl decided to help the local homeless by putting on an apron and grabbing the handle of a barbecue instead of a guitar. Grohl spent 18 hours feeding people in partnership with local charity The Big Umbrella Foundation.
As well as cooking a delicious barbecue, Grohl helped to serve 430 meals to the homeless posing for photos and signing autographs in between.
Foo Fighters will play a few more shows in Australia before heading home for the holidays. They’ll return to New Zealand in January for a series of shows. Stadium dates in North America and Europe are planned for later in the year.
