Frontman Wences Sánchez comments: ‘Our new LP, ‘Tatuado a Fuego’, will be released in mid-March. In this album, we aim to express through songs the moments in life that have shaped us into who we are: both personally and artistically. All those experiences that, to be redundant, are tattooed with fire in our souls or on our skin.’
The singer adds: “It’s an album that we essentially began releasing through singles in the middle of 2024. First, we launched the title track, ‘Tatuado a Fuego’, where we revisit that first love and the feeling of emerging from one’s shell. The entire album explores these sensations and similar stories. This is something anyone can relate to, as personal growth is an experience shared by people all over the world“.
As for the musical direction of the new LP by the Wénces Sanchez and Alex Pouget-fronted outfit from Reus (Tarragona), the musician adds: “On a musical level it has a lot of personality and on a technical level it benefits from all the sonic advances. The project has won the affection of many people through the concerts. We have conquered the public by playing. Whether it’s through live shows or social media. It is the people who decide. We also want to go back to our roots and that when they listen to ‘Tatuado a Fuego’, everyone says ‘OK, I know what these guys are about. That’s very important”.
Da Igual, who continue to tour Spain with their Tatuado a Fuego Tour (between February and May, they will perform in Zaragoza, Madrid, Pamplona, and Santander), exemplify successful musical entrepreneurship. In addition to their regular activities, the group has developed a show called Star Ways, where they cover songs by Alejandro Sánz, Isabel Pantoja, Sergio Dalma, and other artists.
As for the plans in 2025, the Reus-born artist shares: “We have many plans, and we are implementing them in a very disciplined manner. This year, we will release two albums and embark on two simultaneous tours. It’s a bit hectic, but we’ve gained considerable popularity for our renditions of well-known songs in Spain and other Spanish-speaking countries.
In 2024, we released an album titled ‘Star Ways Volume I’, featuring ten versions of folk and popular songs from Spain. Then, in June 2025, we will launch ‘Star Ways Volumen II’, which will include its own tour, and we already have 40 concerts scheduled across the peninsula. Additionally, ‘Tatuado a Fuego’, set to release in March, will feature more than 20 concerts in venues throughout Spain. Each concert and tour will offer a unique experience. The audience will see the band maintaining the same personality and sound, but with a different selection of songs“, he adds.
By bringing these classics into the pop-punk realm of Da Igual, the band has attracted a following not only throughout their country but also in other nations, such as Mexico, where they have already performed. Asked about this topic and the advice he would offer to other entrepreneurs, the Spanish musician states: “You must be hyper-realistic. The excitement and enthusiasm for pursuing something you love are crucial, but you need to be mature and composed enough to recognize if you have something to contribute: a value or a feeling for someone who can listen to you. If the answer is yes, then proceed with everything”.
“There is no success story without a lot of hard work behind it. We are in continuous training, not only on a musical level, but also in things like business management, group dynamics, how to motivate, marketing, etcetera. You have to have a lot of roles that you have to be extremely good at. And on an artistic level, you have to be at 200%, not only in the studio but also live. You can’t disrespect the people who listen to your music and empathise with your story. It’s very important for those who want to stand out in this world to work hard. In the end, the public is sovereign: if they decide to eat shit, they’ll eat shit. If they decide to eat good stuff, they will. You have to be persistent and work hard“. Sánchez concludes.
