Cult of Luna release second single “A Way Back” ahead of new album

Swedish post-metal band Cult of Luna share their second single, “A Way Back”, from their upcoming tenth studio album “In the Shadow of Your Shadow”. The accompanying visualizer was directed by Dehn Sora.

Formed in 1998, the band have long ranked among the defining names in post-metal, and they built their reputation on heavy, restless records that pull from hardcore, sludge, folk, and art-rock. Now they return with a 71-minute album that stands as their darkest to date, and it arrives 25 years after their debut.

“In the Shadow of Your Shadow” drops November 6, 2026 through the band’s own label, Red Crk. It marks their first release for the label after their previous run on Metal Blade. Meanwhile, pre-orders are available here, and “A Way Back” follows the title track, which the band shared as the album’s first single earlier this year.
