Crucified Barbara frontwoman Mia “Coldheart” Karlsson shares live rehearsal video and Dolly Parton cover version

Mia Karlsson – better known as Mia Coldheart, frontwoman of the Swedish hard rock band Crucified Barbara – has released a live rehearsal video of her performing her solo single “Raindrops” alongside Christer Falk (piano) and Björn Eriksson (double bass) at Stockholms Ljudstudio. Mia Karlsson comments on the live rehearsal video as follows:

“In April I asked some of my absolute favorite musicians (who also played with me at the Coming Home release party last year) if they wanted to do a live recorded rehearsal with me. I love to play with this trio and thought it would be a great way to record something to show what we can do – for ourselves and for promoters and anyone who wants to listen! Thanks to Christer Falk (piano) , Björn Eriksson (contrabass) for playing this song with me and I hope we get to play it together live on a stage soon! […] (Special THANKS to Christer who asked me today what happened to the recordings after 4 months, and I told him (ashamed of mysel) that I had buried it for a little while because I thought my broken voice (after a cold) sounded so bad I couldn’t stand it. …But when I listened now I think it just sounds just as a little band playing a song live … Another lesson in school of life #99: stop listening to your own self-destructive brain and mean thoughts. (a bit ironic as it is kind of what this lyric is about.…) Hope you enjoy this little live rehearsal!!”

Just three weeks ago, Mia Karlsson shared a cover version of Dolly Parton‘s “Just Because I’m A Woman“:

“My dear friend and bass player Ida reminded me about this song that I used to sing and play on my pink ukulele all the time in the bus back in the old days when we were touring with Crucified Barbara. It’s such a great song and I decided to pick it up again, and record it with my Blackstar Polar Go Interface. Recommended to listen with headphones for best sound.”
