UK doom metal trio Conan have released a new single titled “Anger Mask.” The track appears in a newly premiered music video and comes from the second installment of the band’s DIY 10-inch vinyl series.

The band created the series to work outside label expectations. In a statement shared with Decibel, Conan explained that the sessions focus on improvisation and quick recording. The group noted that “Anger Mask” came together rapidly during one of those sessions.

The band also revealed the concept behind the track. According to their explanation, the song tells the violent story of a painted Age of Sigmar figure and follows its journey from birth to death. The theme reflects the band’s open appreciation for Warhammer inspired ideas.

The EP was recorded, produced, mixed, and mastered by Chris Fielding at Penylan Studios. Fielding previously played bass in Conan from 2014 to 2023 and has also worked with bands like Electric Wizard, Primordial, and Winterfylleth.

Meanwhile, the DIY vinyl series continues a busy period for the UK trio. Conan released their seventh full length album, “Violence Dimension,” in April 2025.

The video for “Anger Mask” is now streaming online.
