Clawfinger is back with a new record deal – new single on the way

Swedish rap metal veterans Clawfinger are making a fierce comeback, having just signed a fresh record deal with Perception Label, part of Reigning Phoenix Music. The band cheekily announced the news, noting that it comes 32 years after their original deal — and, in typical fashion, they’re not taking themselves too seriously.

Even though they admit they don’t fully grasp the logic of today’s music industry, that hasn’t stopped them from stepping back into the spotlight. The band still sees the music biz as unpredictable and ruthless, but they’re diving into this new chapter with enthusiasm — even if it means repeating old mistakes, just this time with better shoes.

Kicking off this new era is an upcoming single titled “Sc*m”, set to drop soon. It marks the band’s first new music since 2022.

Formed in Stockholm in 1989, Clawfinger quickly made a name for themselves with politically charged lyrics and a high-octane blend of metal and rap. Their 1993 debut album “Deaf Dumb Blind” propelled them to the forefront of the European rap metal scene. Though the band originally split in 2013, they’ve since returned to the stage and occasionally released new material.
