US cult metal band Cirith Ungol will release a new live album “Live at the Roxy” on April 25th 2025 via Metal Blade Records. The album was recorded at the band’s 2024 show at Hollywood’s famed Roxy Theatre, where they performed the entirety of their 2023 album “Dark Parade” as well as older classics.

The Roxy Theatre was chosen as the recording location because of its historical significance. Rob Garven, the band’s drummer, describes the Roxy as “the landmark club in Hollywood” and says the show was a special opportunity to meet fans from around the world.

The live album features the band’s performance in its entirety, including tracks from the “Dark Parade” album as well as older hits such as “Join The Legion”, “Frost And Fire” and “Black Machine”. Bassist Jarvis Leatherby says the album is a tribute to the band’s bootleg recording recorded in the same venue 40 years ago.

Garven compares “Live at the Roxy” to other legendary live albums such as The Who’s “Live at Leeds” and the Mountain’s live albums. He believes the new album will capture the atmosphere and energy of a live performance.

A taster of the album has also been released in the form of the track “Down Below”. You can watch the video below. Garven describes the track as a “whirlwind of metallic chaos”, which sums up the band’s feelings of isolation and loss caused by the pandemic.

“Live at the Roxy” will be released digitally in 2xCD/DVD and 2xLP/DVD editions, the latter of which will be available in several colour versions in limited editions.
