Candelabrum Metal Festival releases final lineup

Continuing to mark its name as a major festival on the extreme side of metal in North America, Candelabrum Metal Festival announced its final lineup this week, with a few additions to the roster.

The final additions to the festival’s lineup include Solitude Aeturnus, a legendary act in the world of epic doom metal. Hailing from the United States and emerging in the 80s, Solitude Aeturnus were part of the early stages of doom metal, seizing an ambivalent position that blended the best of Sabbath and Candlemass, the defining doom names in the early years. However, they added an epic beat to the melancholic aura of this subgenre, with more bombastic arrangements and heavier riffs. Although their career has been interrupted a few times due to lineup changes, they are returning this year to continue cementing their place as a band that gave doom metal an epic face.

Another name is Ved Buens Ende (At the end of the rainbow), an avant-garde black metal band that, although their career has been short, has left a mark on metal music. Formed in Oslo, Norway, in 1993, their debut album “Written in Waters” had a powerful sound that combined a variety of elements: jazz-influenced sections, atonality and dissonance, prominent bass sound, and the old-fashioned aggressive black metal blast beats and vocals. Until this day, it has been difficult to recreate this blend, making it a prominent experimental black metal work. Ved Buens Ende did not continue the project after 1997; nonetheless, they are back with a few gigs confirmed this year, including Candelabrum Metal Festival.

Candelabrum Metal Festival will take place on 12 and 13 September 2026, in León, Guanajuato, Mexico. Tickets can be purchased online here.
