Byzantine drop claymation video for “Harbinger” ahead of US tour

West Virginia metal band Byzantine have released a new claymation music video for the track “Harbinger”, from their latest studio album “Harbingers”, which came out in June via Metal Blade Records.

The video was months in the making, with vocalist Chris Ojeda co-writing the script with his daughter Mallory and claymation artist Adrian Venti hand-crafting every scene. Edited by Holly Grayson, the story follows a boy who loses his father, falls prey to greed and selfishness, but is ultimately saved by an act of kindness toward a raven. The main character was even modelled after Ojeda’s young son, Henry.

Their seventh full-length “Harbingers” spans nine tracks and about 45 minutes, blending heavy riffs, groove, and lyrical depth. The video release comes just ahead of Byzantine’s US Fall tour, which kicks off September 20 in Morgantown, WV, and wraps up November 3 in Westfield, MA, with select shows alongside Cavalera Conspiracy, Fear Factory, and Pissing Razors.
