The Japanese rock band Buck-Tick has released a new single, entitled “渋谷ハリアッパ!” (“Shibuya Hariappa!“, on some streaming platforms also listed as “Shibuya Hurry Upper!“), along with a music video. You can check out the video below:
The music video was directed by Kazuki Gotanda (“Signo”).
The release almost coincides with the second anniversary of the death of Buck-Tick frontman Atsushi Sakurai, who passed away suddenly at the age of 57 following a brainstem hemorrhage after a Buck-Tick show in Yokohama on 19 October 2023. Since the death of Atsushi Sakurai, the band’s guitarists Hisashi Imai and Hidehiko “Hide” Hoshino have been sharing lead vocal duties. Founded in 1983, Buck-Tick are commonly credited as one of the main founders of the visual kei movement and cited as an influence by, amongst others, Dir En Grey frontman Kyo.
