Swiss metalcore outfit Breakdown of Sanity have released “Reveries”, their first studio album in a decade, alongside a new music video for “Atlas”. The 12-track record arrived on November 6, 2026, marking the band’s first full-length release since 2016’s “Coexistence”.
The arrival of “Reveries” closes a lengthy chapter for the group, which stepped away from regular activity before gradually returning with new music. “Atlas” is the album’s closing track and serves as the latest visual introduction to the new material.
Earlier this year, Breakdown of Sanity confirmed that work on their first new album in ten years was underway. The band subsequently shared “Hibernate” and “One-Way Mirror”, building anticipation for the release following the earlier songs “The Hunt” and “Torn Pages”.
When announcing the album, the musicians reflected on the decade since “Coexistence”, describing a period of stepping back, finding their way back to the band and going through personal and musical changes. They said “Reveries” represents both the sound that originally defined Breakdown of Sanity and the experiences accumulated during their time away from making full-length records.
The album also introduces a new era for the band with vocalist Kivi Brändle, who joined following the departure of longtime frontman Carlo Knöpfel.
The new album contains the following twelve songs:
Breakdown of Sanity have also announced a series of European concerts for 2027. Their schedule includes performances in France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands, giving fans an opportunity to hear material from “Reveries” live.
Formed in Bern in 2007, the band built an international following with its melodic but heavy approach to metalcore, releasing “The Last Sunset”, “Mirrors”, “Perception” and “Coexistence” before the extended gap that preceded “Reveries”.
The new “Atlas” video can be found through the band’s official channels. “Reveries” is available on streaming platforms, with further details on the official Breakdown of Sanity website.
