Brann Dailor led Arcadea releases fresh single “Fuzzy Planet” – new album out in August

Atlanta synth-rock trio Arcadea returns on August 22 with The Exodus Of Gravity, their long-awaited second album via Relapse Records. With Mastodon‘s Brann Dailor stepping into the lead vocalist role and joined by synth player João Nogueira alongside founding member Core Atoms, the band takes a bold leap into danceable, emotionally charged psychedelia.

Trading in the proggy complexity of their 2017 debut for rhythm-driven grooves, Arcadea explores a futuristic world where gravity disappears and emotion reigns. Their new single, “Fuzzy Planet“, sets the tone with a dreamy, synth-soaked video set at a surreal alien prom where love blooms across the stars.

Dailor says the goal was to craft something more fun and uplifting—focusing on groove, hooks, and electronic textures rather than the intricacy he’s known for in Mastodon. The album, recorded at West End Sound in Mastodon’s Ember City facility, was self-produced by the trio and engineered by Tom Tapley.

Core Atoms’ cosmic concept imagines a galaxy billions of years from now, where artificial intelligence merges with microbial life, reigniting human empathy through emotional spores. The result is a cinematic, interstellar experience anchored in heart and rhythm.
