Bon Jovi is an American rock ensemble established in Sayreville, New Jersey, in 1983. The group comprises vocalist Jon Bon Jovi, keyboardist David Bryan, drummer Tico Torres, guitarists John Shanks and Phil X, percussionist Everett Bradley, and bassist Hugh McDonald.

The original bassist, Alec John Such, departed from the band in 1994, while long-standing guitarist and co-songwriter Richie Sambora exited in 2013. In 1984, Bon Jovi released their eponymous debut studio album, with its single “Runaway” reaching the Top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Their third album, “Slippery When Wet”, released in 1986, marked a significant milestone by garnering widespread acclaim and international recognition. This album produced three Top 10 singles on the Billboard Hot 100, including two chart-toppers: “You Give Love a Bad Name” and “Livin’ on a Prayer.“

The subsequent album, “New Jersey”, released in 1988, continued their commercial success, featuring five Top 10 singles, among which “Bad Medicine” and “I’ll Be There for You” achieved number one status. During the late 1980s, the band engaged in extensive recording and touring activities, culminating in the 1988–1990 New Jersey Syndicate Tour.
