Independent label Better Noise Music has reached a major milestone by scoring simultaneous No. 1 singles at both rock and alternative radio during the same week.

The achievement marks the first time an independent label has simultaneously topped both the Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay and Billboard Alternative Airplay charts.

Rock outfit From Ashes To New secured their first-ever No. 1 at Active Rock radio with the single “Drag Me”. The track climbed to the top of the Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay chart following several previous Top 10 successes for the band, including “Barely Breathing” and “Crazy”, both of which previously peaked at No. 2.

The success arrives alongside the release of the band’s latest album “Reflections”, which was released on April 17th.

At the same time, pop punk veterans Yellowcard reached No. 1 on the Billboard Alternative Airplay chart with Bedroom Posters featuring Good Charlotte. The song has now held the top position for two consecutive weeks.

Speaking about the achievement, Jackie Kajzer, SVP Promotion & Artist Development at Better Noise Music, commented:

“We don’t take moments like this lightly. Huge credit to our partners at Rock and Alternative Radio for continuing to support these artists in a meaningful way. At Better Noise, we develop artists to build long-term careers.”

Meanwhile, Better Noise Music CEO Dan Waite emphasized the label’s long-term strategy:

“This is what artist development looks like when you work from the end goal backwards. From Ashes To New and Yellowcard reaching No. 1 simultaneously didn’t happen overnight. It’s the result of years of focused development and building real fanbases.”

Over the past several years, Better Noise Music has established itself as one of the strongest independent forces in rock radio. Since 2020, 31 out of the label’s 34 priority singles have reached the Top 10, while 23 singles have climbed all the way to No. 1.
