Better Lovers gear up for studio return in July – California mini-tour in tow

Metalcore supergroup Better Lovers, composed of veterans from Every Time I Die, The Dillinger Escape Plan, and Fit For An Autopsy, have announced that they’ll hit the studio in July to begin work on their sophomore full-length album. Their last album, “Highly Irresponsible”, dropped in October 2024, and the new album is slated to follow later this year.

The band revealed they’ve booked recording sessions beginning in July, and in classic Better Lovers fashion, they’re planning a break mid-recording: a California takeover during the Van’s Warped Tour weekend. The mini-run includes back-to-back shows in Southern California from July 26 to 29. They’ll play Long Beach on July 26–27 as part of the tour, then head to Los Angeles on July 28 at The Lodge Room w/ Lockslip and one yet-to-be-announced act, followed by a San Diego stop at Brick By Brick on July 29 w/ Lockslip and another mystery band.

This upcoming studio stint follows a dynamic run of activity since forming in 2023. Better Lovers released their debut EP “God Made Me an Animal” in July that year, and dropped “Highly Irresponsible” in October 2024. That album was recorded earlier in the year at Will Putney’s Graphic Nature Audio in New Jersey and included multi-genre singles like “A White Horse Covered In Blood” and “Love As An Act Of Rebellion”.
