Bartholomäus “Barth” Resch, the former bassist and vocalist of Austrian blackened death metal band Belphegor, passed away on May 8th, apparently in an automobile accident, as per theprp. From 2002 to 2006, Barth performed with Belphegor, but he remained acquainted with the group’s members long after. Helmuth Lehner, the band’s singer and guitarist, posted an homage to Belphegor on social media on June 18. Throughout his life, Barth performed with several different bands, such as Tabula Rasa and ArsGoatia. Additionally, he participated in the “House of the Holy” festival behind the scenes.
