Behemoth vocalist/guitarist Nergal and bassist/vocalist Orion have launched a new sub label venture of sorts dubbed Artefacts. They intend to release elaborate reissues of black metal releases embellished with packaging constructed via “vintage print and paper making methods.”

The first release in the series will be a new pressing of Ulver‘s 1993 demo “Vargnatt“. The following press release was put out about the label and its intentions:

“Having some experience in releasing limited edition Behemoth records for our Webstore, we decided to try something even more sophisticated in form. From an idea to reality, it took us some time to kick off, but here we are. ARTEFACTS is a sub label of New Aeon Musick. It’s all about how we believe black metal history deserves to be presented. We search for the jewels, and grant them a new, unprecedented form. Royal analogue, enriched with a unique connection of vintage print and paper making methods invented in the XVth century. Yet with a modern touch. The ultimate editions.

“I’m officially bursting with pride! Not just another re-release but a stunning state of the ART collector item is what we are presenting here: Ulver, one of the pioneers of the second wave of Norwegian Black Metal and my personal favorites is THE first of many releases to be released under the banner of ARTEFACTS! Strictly limited to 500, these are all signed by Garm himself! Enjoy!””
